Today, for "Women's History Month", let's celebrate this amazing woman and wish her a happy birthday..
Tara MacNair, 49, St. Patrick's Day baby, mom of 3, trainer, UNUM employee and grateful daughter of Priscilla Sanborn.
Tara MacNair was born in Maine and raised in Old Orchard Beach. Tara loves her job at UNUM because it provides the work-life balance she wants for herself and kids.
She grew up with 4 sisters and wonders how 6 females survived with 1 bathroom and 1 rotary phone with cord long enough to reach every corner of the house. Tara attended Northeastern University where she studied Communications, Sports Broadcast. She studied under Professor and voice of the Red Sox Joe Castiglione. Tara worked for WEEI Sports Radio covering the Red Sox and NESN.
In 2004 she became a mom to Elise, Reid in 2006 & Grae in 2008. Motherhood allowed her to discover her inner strengths and capabilities she never knew she had. Tara’s mom, Priscilla, is her source of strength and inspiration. She appreciates the moments when she sounds just like her mother.
These days you will find Tara drinking coffee on the sidelines or in bleachers cheering on her kids. She is enjoying every moment, taking hundreds of pictures and videos. She remembers what it felt like to have family, school and community cheering her on and feels lucky her kids get to experience the same. Tara is proud of many things in her life but nothing beats being a Mother.
Thank you, Tara, for sharing your story. You are an inspiration!
