Today, for the "Women's History Month", we will be celebrating this beautiful lady.
Meet Jane Goldstein, 72, wife, mother of 2, grandmother of 3 and happily retired...
Jane was born and raised in Melrose Massachusetts where she lived until her marriage. Jane & her husband raised their two children in West Peabody Massachusetts. After stops in San Diego, Pasadena and North Andover, Jane calls Ocean Park home.
She is a graduate of Melrose High School and Endicott College, where she received her hard-earned Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Education.
Jane’s early ventures into the working world placed her in clerical roles in business office environments. At one of those positions, she met her future husband Stuart. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2021.
Jane’s life interests called her in another direction. While volunteering at her children’s preschool, Jane understood her heart strings were focused on nurturing & teaching young children. She took a position as an assistant teacher at a local preschool and that was the start of Jane’s wonderful 35-year career teaching preschool and kindergarten.
She is retired now but does occasionally substitute teach in Scarborough.
To pursue her goal of a teaching career, Jane needed to further her education so she started taking college classes. Pursuing a college degree while raising a family and working was the biggest challenge Jane could imagine. That effort took nine years of part-time classes while working, managing carpools, children’s after school schedules and volunteering. Jane graduated cum laude from Endicott College.
Jane believes her greatest and proudest triumphs are her children Joel and Caryl and the fantastic adults they have become. She is extremely proud of her three wonderful grandchildren - Emma, Madelyn and Adam.
Jane has always been passionate about encouraging young children and teaching them the joy & excitement of learning. Jane is enthusiastic about spending time and sharing life’s lessons with her grandchildren.
For Jane, family comes first & foremost in life. Beyond that, Jane truly values the Ocean Park community and all the amazing friends she has met along the way.
JANES'S ADVICE FOR OTHER WOMEN:
"Go for it! No matter where you are in life or when you start, passionately pursue your dreams. Meeting the challenges that you face and sometimes exceeding your own expectations is the most rewarding thing you can imagine."
Another one of Jane’s favorite quotes is from Fred Rodgers.
While it is focused on teaching and children, its message goes far beyond the classroom to everything one does.
“The best teacher in the world is someone who loves what he or she does, and just loves it in front of you.”

Thank you, Jane, for sharing your inspiring story with us all!
