Today, for the "Women's History Month" celebration, I would like to introduce this fabulous woman
Meet Nancy Cote, 58, super proud momma, fun loving, grateful...
Nancy was born and raised in Portland, Maine to two harding-working and loving parents. She has two younger brothers making her the only girl, her dad's girl. After high school, Nancy enjoyed working with patients in a dental office in Portland until she had her son Joseph. It was then, that Nancy truly flourished. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom and settled in Saco, Maine where she completed her family by adding her daughter Meaghan.
The time that Nancy stayed home with her children were the happiest and most fulfilling times of her life. She was able to volunteer in classrooms, attend every baseball and lacrosse game, every dance recital and horse show, and was always happily there for whatever her kids needed. Both of Nancy’s children hold bachelor degrees from The University of Maine. Joseph works as a financial advisor and lives in Portland with his wife Callie. Meaghan works as a dental assistant in Kennebunk and lives in Waterboro with her boyfriend Josh and Meaghan's horse Gunner.
When Joseph and Meaghan were in school full-time, a dear friend persuaded her to job share with her at Saco Middle School. She quickly became a welcome addition to the office. She loved the job's perk of snow days and was always known to have a smile on her face and a pretty dish of candy and mints on her desk.
Twenty years later, Nancy continues to work for the school department. She still gets excited for snow days and always enjoys seeing and helping all of the sweet children that she gets to work with on a daily basis. Nancy takes nothing for granted and feels truly blessed every day that she has a job that she loves, cherished friendships and most importantly two human beings that she adores. Her life’s purpose is to help others and spoil those around her. She can remember every detail and knows exactly how to make a person’s day. Just beware, if you receive a birthday/holiday card from Nancy, it will contain a lot of confetti and a pop of color!
You will most likely find Nancy wearing her signature pink nail color, taking a walk on the beach, or enjoying a lemon drop or cosmo at her favorite restaurant. The best way to describe Nancy - the one that makes the sunshine every day even when it's not there - the sprinkles on top of a sundae.
Nancy's favorite quote is:"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others. For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness;and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone".- Audrey Hepburn***Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your journey with us!#whm #womenshistorymonthproject #womenempowerment #womansupportingwomen
